About Us
Flying Samaritans at UC Irvine is an undergraduate non-profit organization at University of California, Irvine.
Our Mission
Flying Samaritans at the University of California, Irvine, is a student-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the humanitarian efforts of The Flying Samaritans, Inc. Our mission is to provide free, high-quality healthcare to underserved communities in Mexico through monthly medical clinics staffed by volunteer physicians, dentists, optometrists, pilots, students, and other healthcare professionals.
Our student-run clinic, Clínica José Lemus López Héroes del Desierto, serves the rural areas outside Tecate, Mexico, in the town of El Testerazo. Here, our members actively participate in clinic operations by assisting with administration, translation, and vital sign collection. Students also gain firsthand exposure to primary care by observing patient intake, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, offering a unique and immersive learning experience.
Beyond providing essential medical services, we foster cultural understanding and hands-on learning, making this work both impactful and deeply rewarding for all involved.

Who We Are
Flying Samaritans at UC Irvine
believes everyone deserves access to quality healthcare. Every month, our team of compassionate, dedicated and hardworking students volunteers, physicians and dentists, travel to Clinica José Lemus López in El Testerazo, Mexico, to provide free medical and dental care to families who would otherwise go without.
For many of these families, our clinic is their only source of healthcare.
